Experts expect both 2009 H1N1 flu and seasonal flu to cause illness, hospital stays and deaths this season.

For those who have a doctor Check with your doctor first about seasonal and H1N1 influenza vaccination opportunities. One's own physician will be able to recommend and provide vaccinations as appropriate. If you are among those in risk groups to receive the H1N1 flu vaccine, don't wait until this vaccine is available in order to get a seasonal flu vaccine. Ask your doctor about a seasonal flu vaccination now.

For the general public who may not have a doctor and who want to get vaccinated - both seasonal and H1N1 vaccinations - go to the DOH website http://hawaii.gov/health "Where to get your flu and pneumonia shots". This information is updated weekly in partnership with Aloha United Way 2-1-1. This site provides up-to-date information about clinics where flu and pneumonia shots are available. Many of the clinics will accept insurance.

Call 2-1-1. 2-1-1 provides information about where to get both seasonal and H1N1 vaccinations for all islands. This is the same information that is available through the DOH website. The call and the information are free from all islands.
