Board Members
The Board is comprised of elected members and all of the Working Team leaders. Board members are elected by the membership according to the By Laws and represent the broad membership of HIC, which includes public and private agencies and individuals. The Board makes policy and provides direction for the Working Teams and the coalition. The Board actively supervises the fiscal policies and activities in support of HIC purposes, objectives and mission.

Heather Lusk (2010) Vice President
As the Hepatitis C Coordinator for the Hawaii State Department of Health, Heather feels that no one need suffer from a vaccine-preventable disease. Through her work at DOH and HIC, Heather's vision is to work toward a public that is disease-free.

Georgine Panui, RN (2010) Treasurer
works as a Public Health Nurse for Oahu Head Start Program on Oahu. Her special focus is full immunization for children - ensuring that children ages three to five years old and entering preschool are up-to-date with their immunizations.

Maricel Abad, RN (2012)
works as a Public Health Nurse for the Hawaii State Department of Health, Public Health Nursing Branch. Maricel works with Hawaii’s high-risk populations and those with special needs and helps staff immunization clinics for children and youth through age 18 who do not have insurance or a medical home. The goal is to get families into a medical home and to assure that all clients are up-to-date with recommended immunizations to protect against vaccine-preventable diseases. Maricel has been a Clinic Manager for the Stop Flu at School Program since 2007.
